omg. this. sooo much!

Yup.

Absolutely disagree. fat bodies are queer bodies; no question that today it is less socially acceptable to admit to finding a fat body sexually attractive than someone of…

My (not fat) husband is married to me (a very fat woman) and there are no laws preventing our marriage or preventing us from having and raising children. We can walk down the street again holding hands and people don’t try to harm or kill us. His parents didn’t disown him for marrying a fat chick. His friends didn’t shun him. Nobody is telling him he’s going to hell.

While I appreciate that there is pressure on fat people to be thin, and on everyone to not date fat people, using “closet” terminology is divisive and dismisses a lot of what gay, trans*, etc people actually go through— the danger they live in. I say this as a fat person who is fully supportive of fat rights, HAES, etc. It’s damaging to compare oppressions or play who’s-got-it-worse, and it’s damaging to co-opt the terminology of specific oppressed groups.

Those sad, deflated boobs.

Seriously, folks, ‘ugly renaissance babes’ needs to be a thing. I mean it. Look at that wonky cheap-ass boobjob! Look at it!!

It’s like someone stuck two deflated balloons to a dude’s chest.

And furthermore didn’t understand how breast tissue attaches to musculature.

“It’s like someone stuck two deflated balloons to a dude’s chest.”

Well, I mean.  A lot Renaissance sculpture of women is basically a dude body with tits slapped haphazardly on, maybe some lady lump tacked onto the hips or something.

I just got a text from my boyfriend that the Black Panthers are calling for random acts of violence against whites across the country. This is entirely second-hand and I can’t substantiate this claim at all. I’m not finding anything other than articles on the…

"

Much of the opposition to VAWA [Violence Against Women Act] comes from so-called “men’s rights” or “father’s rights” groups. They frame the debate as “he-said-she-said”–women’s rights and protection on one side, men’s on another.

Turns out, that’s not the case. Groups funded by VAWA have supported male victims for years. I know: I’ve worked for many rape crisis centers and domestic violence programs. We always served anyone, regardless of gender.

I think most men actually support VAWA and its goals–which are to improve law enforcement and community support against domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking. With VAWA reauthorization in jeopardy, it’s time for us to make that support public.

I met Ben Atherton-Zeeman at the NOW conference when it was held in Tampa. I think that was last year? Anyway, yeah, he’s pretty cool. MRAs are not.

So yeah. This.

(via stfufauxminists)

"Not only does abstinence-only education completely erase and forget about people who become pregnant as a result of rape, but they don’t even shed any light on sexual assault as a thing that exists in the real world, or something that can possibly be assuaged by clear, concise, and assertive sexual communication. Essentially, they are helping to create a culture of sexual ignorance – something that is a huge contributor to rape culture. If a person is never taught about sex, consent, and communication beyond “no” or “yes”, they are more likely to commit sexual assault."

Hoke County Couple Murdered- North Carolina

Neighbors said 35-year-old Tommy Brown was playing basketball with his sons and was concerned because neighbor John Oliver Hill Jr., 48, was shooting a gun in the area
“And this nut from across the street - who had been outside shooting his gun - the gentleman asked him if he would quit because of all the kids outside playing. And so he took it upon his self to come over here and he just shot the man. Shot him in the head,” said neighbor Lois Clairmont.
Deputies said the weapon was a .30-30 hunting rifle. The three boys who witnessed the shooting ran inside to get their mother and when she came out, Hill allegedly shot her twice.
